Teaching Emotional Intelligence Online: The Sociology of Discussion Boards

Student engagement in an online class has always been a challenge to faculty. We all know that courses can be difficult for some students, and discussions do not turn out as planned. How we maximize our communication effectiveness? In case study of Emotional Intelligence course community college setting, looked at this through sociological lens built on the perspective socialization theories conceptions see students quickly become engaged with their classmates openly share concerns. Data was analyzed lessons learned.
